The Bishop’s Stortford High School is a popular, oversubscribed 6FE school of 1280 students, providing a single-sex education for boys in Years 7 to 11 with a thriving mixed sixth form of close to 400 students, including 137 female students. This is a very exciting time to be joining our Outstanding school, as we relocated to a brand-new state-of-the-art school just over a year ago. We have a fantastic new learning environment, supported by cutting edge technology, and huge opportunities for the future.

Our vast list of extra-curricular activities and trips means students engage positively with school and represent our values with pride. Staff turnover is low, as they feel well-supported and enjoy working here, with many choosing the school for their own children.

The department runs multiple A-Level classes in each of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Environmental Science, and an ability to teach one of those to A-Level would be expected of the successful candidate. Students routinely make excellent progress at GCSE and A-Level across each of the various courses and there is a strong track-record of large numbers of students going on to study science-related courses at university.
