ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head of Science to lead our dynamic Science department at Trinity Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and committed Science specialist to shape the future of Science education, inspire a love for the subject, and drive outstanding student outcomes.
As Head of Science, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a knowledge-rich curriculum, ensuring all students have access to high-quality Science education. You will lead and support a team of dedicated Science teachers, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Science department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Implement the rigorous, knowledge-rich curriculum across all three sciences.
- Inspire and support students to develop a deep understanding and passion for Science.
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Science teachers to enhance pedagogical expertise and student outcomes.
- Monitor student progress and implement strategies to support achievement across all key stages.
- Work collaboratively with senior leadership to promote Science education within the wider school community.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE:
- A strong academic record, ideally with a 2:1 degree or above in a Science-related subject.
- A deep passion for Science, with expertise in at least one specialism (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
- Proven leadership experience or a clear vision for leading and developing an outstanding Science department.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire both staff and students.
- A commitment to high standards and a drive to raise achievement in Science.
- An unwavering belief in the power of education to transform lives, in line with our trust’s motto, libertas per cultum (freedom through education).
