About You:  

As Head of SEND, you’ll bring deep expertise and a strategic mindset to leading inclusive education across our Trust. With experience spanning multiple schools, you will have experience of embedding high-quality SEND practice and hold others to account. With a track record of working in partnership with SENCOs and senior leaders, you’ve provided expert support while confidently challenging practice to strengthen provision and improve outcomes. Your knowledge of legislation, funding, and external partnerships enables you to drive improvement with confidence. Known for your sound judgement and clear communication, you lead with purpose - balancing strategic thinking with collaboration and a commitment to equity for every child.

Our Ideal Candidate Will:

*Specialist Qualifications: Hold recognised SEND qualification and/or evidence of extensive CPD relating to SEND

*Leadership Experience: Have significant leadership experience, at trust or local authority level, and/or as a headteacher or principal, or a SENDCO who has worked across different schools

*Classroom Expertise: Have significant teaching experience, including teaching children with SEND in mainstream and/or special school settings

*Professional Development Leadership: Bring experience of providing high quality training and development for SEND staff in schools, LAs or other education settings (e.g. to SENCOs, LSAs, LA staff).

*Strategic Problem-Solving: Bring the ability to evaluate accurately and to solve complex problems and challenges.

*Collaborative Leadership: Be able to build and sustain effective working relationships with headteachers, staff, Directors, parents and the wider community, including with the Diocese, LAs and external agencies.

At Creative Education Trust, our Education Team leads the strategic development of teaching, learning, and inclusion across our family of schools. Led by Dr Jason Howard, Director of Education, the team brings together extensive experience in headship, multi-academy trust leadership, curriculum development, safeguarding, and SEND. Working in close partnership with Headteachers and school leaders, the team provides expert guidance and challenge to ensure consistently high standards across our network.
