Head of Sixth Form job summary

Capital City Academy is seeking an inspirational new Head of 6th Form to lead our vibrant Capital 6 of over 250 students. This is a new role working with our excellent Assistant Principal KS5 and strong C6 team as C6 continues to expand. The successful candidate will be a strong KS5 teacher (preferably able to teach Science, maths or Economics), a creative leader, be reflective and have an excellent understanding of KS5 teaching and learning and will share the school’s vision and the belief that Capital City Academy will provide an exceptional environment to promote a passion for learning and discovery, enabling all learners to succeed. We offer A-levels, Vocational and Technical qualifications at L3 & L2 in C6 and have also been approved to deliver the Health and Science T-levels from 2022. We run Basketball & Football academies and this attracts a large number of external students. The majority of Capital Y11s continue through to C6 and results, especially in vocational subjects, are outstanding. You will be: •an inspirational practitioner, with the capacity to develop excellence in T&L (preferably able to teach Science, maths or Economics). •a creative and resourceful leader with a track record of producing excellent results •Committed to all post-16 pathways and supporting students both academically and pastorally •a good communicator, with outstanding planning and organisational skills •committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
