An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Sixth Form Teacher & Careers Lead at Oastlers School.
Oastlers School is a Trauma Informed UK School. We help children and young people move towards positive emotional and relational health so that learning — and lives — can flourish.
Our fantastic school is a well‑established, designated SEMH specialist provision with capacity to serve 179 learners, supported by a team of talented colleagues, across two sites in central Bradfordand Keighley. We are a school that’s proudly part of Exceed Academies Trust — a high‑reputation family of 14 schools with a system‑lead role through the Exceed Teaching School Hub and outstanding Exceed SCITT. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the secondary curriculum and be eager to contribute towards a supportive and ambitious learning environment. They will also have the ability to lead, motivate and inspire students and staff, whilst fostering a positive classroom culture to further promote learning.
In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management of the Sixth Form provision, ensuring that learners with SEMH needs receive high-quality education, pastoral support, careers guidance, and transition planning that enables them to move successfully into further education, employment, apprenticeships, supported internships, or independent living.
The successful candidate will:
- Have recent successful teaching experience
- Have a strong commitment to ensuring excellent pupil progress
- Be dedicated to sharing responsibilities for raising standards
- Enjoy a collaborative style approach to working and learning
- Demonstrate knowledge of successful strategies for assessing and raising pupils' achievement
- Possess strong behaviour management skills
