What skills and experience we're looking for
Plympton Academy is seeking to appoint a Head of Social Sciences to join our team of committed professionals teaching our fantastic students. You will be able to teach Social Sciences with passion for your subject and the development of pedagogy and curriculum.
As Head of Social Sciences you will lead by example, develop, inspire and motivate your team and be committed to achieving high standards.This is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding teacher who is now looking for promotion to Head of department in a supportive and successful Academy or for an established Head of Social Sciences looking to continue the improvement journey that this department has already successfully started.About You:
- A qualified teacher with QTS and able to deliver Social Sciences up to Key Stage 5
- Committed to high standards and raising achievement for all students
- Keen to contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities.
- A strong communicator who can build positive relationships with young people, colleagues and families.
- An aspiring leader of learning and happy to grasp exciting CPD opportunities
- Contribute to the values, ethos and the development of our schools
