What skills and experience we're looking for
Are you a dynamic leader and creative, passionate and inspirational about Social sciences?
We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Head of Social Sciences and Teacher of Business Studies to lead a highly successful faculty and talented team at Rainhill High School, including Rainhill Sixth.
As a driven individual who can bring excellent leadership skills and outstanding teaching to Rainhill, you will have a proven track record of improvement as an inspirational and experienced practitioner securing outcomes across the key stages and possibly some existing leadership experience.
You will need to have excellent interpersonal skills with a genuine commitment to teaching and developing a love of learning in these subject areas.
Familiarity with the A level or L3 BTEC syllabus requirements for Business Studies
Track record of excellent examination results
To be able to articulate a vision for learning
Leadership
Track record of excellent leadership at subject level
Track record of successfully managing other adults
Evidence of capacity to take on the required additional workload
Track record of successfully improving the performance of other adults
Evidence of working outside of area of curriculum expertise
Qualifications Skills and Abilities
Good Degree or equivalent in relevant subject area
PGCE in relevant subject area
QTS/QTLS
Evidence of further professional development at Masters level.
Quality of Teaching
Ability or experience of teaching Business Studies to KS4 & KS5
Evidence of excellent teaching – at least Good judgments
Evidence of “Outstanding” practice
National Standards
Evidence all of the Teaching Standards in routine practice
Ethos and Extra Curricular and Curriculum enrichment
Evidence of inclusive practice
Evidence all of substantial contribution to extra-curricular activities

Rainhill High School is a co-educational secondary school and sixth form centre located in Rainhill, Merseyside, England.
The school converted to an academy under Rainhill Learning Village in March 2017. More recently, the school has become part of the Stephenson Trust.
