HEAD OF SOCIOLOGY
The Norton Knatchbull School is seeking to appoint an inspiring Head of Sociology to lead the delivery of Sociology at GCSE and A Level with a November, or possibly earlier start. This is a permanent position. We are looking for an enthusiastic and outstanding teacher with a genuine passion for teaching and learning, who can lead this highly successful and popular subject. We welcome applicants from either selective or mixed-ability settings, who are keen to work with high achieving and motivated students.
The successful applicant will have a proven track record of securing excellent examination outcomes. They will be an exceptional classroom practitioner, capable of inspiring both students and colleagues, and will lead the department with energy and vision.
The Sociology Department at The Norton Knatchbull School is a well-established and valued part of the curriculum, offering students the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of society and contemporary issues. Sociology remains a popular subject at both GCSE and A Level, with strong student engagement and uptake. The department delivers the AQA specification and is committed to providing high-quality teaching and support, enabling all students to achieve their full potential.
This Subject Leader post attracts a TLR 2b - £6,069.
