Head of Step-Out Provision job summary
The Astrea Academy Trust South Yorkshire Step-Out Provision will open its doors in the Autumn term, welcoming up to 30 scholars across key stages 3 and 4. Supporting our South Yorkshire secondary academies, Step-Out will give our scholars the time, therapeutic and academic support they need to be successful when they return to mainstream education. This provision highlights our unwavering commitment to addressing the needs of scholars accessing the Step-Out provision.
Based at the Astrea Academy Woodfields site, our expansive environment will offer scholars a placement of up to 12 weeks. Our expert Step-Out team will support, ready and prepare scholars for a successful reintegration to their directing academy at the end of their placement.
We have a unique opportunity for an experienced leader to join us on this journey – we are investing significantly in our young people and would like you to be part of the life changing work we do. You will be instrumental in the success of this new provision, leading the operational management, development and leadership of the Step-Out Provision with guidance and support from the Trust Vice Principal for Internal Provision.
We welcome applications from experienced colleagues from all educational sectors and would love to speak to you about what you could bring to this role and why you want to be part of this exciting development.
We can offer you:
- A varied, extended induction
- Active learning from experienced colleagues across our academies
- The opportunity to make a real difference
- Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme and Employee Assistant Programme
- A strong caring ethos and supportive team
- Generous Annual Leave entitlement
- Continued professional development and training opportunities
- Collaboration across an extended team working to provide a high-quality bespoke curriculum to best meet scholars’ needs.
We welcome open discussions about this opportunity and the Step-Out Provision – please contact angela.moore@astreadearne.org - Trust Vice Principal for Internal Provision - to find out more.
Start dates are in September, October or November 2024 to allow flexibility for the right candidate, while ensuring the opportunity for a comprehensive and in-depth induction and period of provision development.
If you are joining us from another school, academy or trust we recognise your continuous service date with confirmation from your current employer. This can positively impact a number of entitlements, including increased annual holiday payments which represent an increase in salary. This can be discussed in more detail at interview.
