Head of Technology job summary

Specific responsibilities

  • To lead and manage the Technology and ICT Faculty

  • To line manage the second in Faculty

  • To lead teaching and learning in the Faculty

  • To lead subject staff to implement the Faculty TAAP plan

  • To plan, prepare and teach a range of Technology subjects and ICT across the full age range and abilities

  • To assess, record and report on students' work and progress

  • To design and have responsibility for the faculty schemes of work

  • To update schemes of work within the faculty

  • To contribute to the departmental and whole school policies on literacy and numeracy

  • To represent the faculty at the TAAP meetings

  • To represent the faculty at curriculum and other meetings

  • To work with the SLT link to continue to raise standards within the department

  • To undertake Faculty Self-Review

 Tasks

  • To improve outcomes at KS3 and KS4

  • To develop the Technology and ICT curriculum at both KS3 and KS4

  • To continue work on target setting for students

  • To continue developing schemes of work in line with the new national curriculum orders

  • To review and develop the assessment policy

  • To use and develop ICT within the curriculum and for administration purpose
