The Role

We are seeking an exceptional and dedicated Head of Year to join our team from January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented teacher and leader who is passionate about ensuring every scholar achieves their full potential academically, socially and personally.

As Head of Year, you will provide outstanding pastoral leadership, champion high standards of behaviour, attendance and achievement, and work closely with colleagues, families and external partners to remove barriers to success and secure excellent outcomes for all scholars.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and champion a year group, ensuring the highest standards of pastoral care and academic support.
  • Monitor and analyse attendance, behaviour and achievement data, implementing strategies to drive improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with pastoral, safeguarding, SEND and teaching teams to support scholar success.
  • Build positive relationships with parents and carers to secure strong home-school partnerships.
  • Lead year group assemblies, meetings, interventions and scholar-focused events.
  • Act as a role model for scholars, promoting the academy's values and culture of excellence.
  • Support scholars to overcome barriers and participate fully in academy life.
  • Contribute to transition, rewards and wider academy improvement initiatives.
