What skills and experience we're looking for

Overall Responsibilities:

• To take a lead in raising the achievement of the students within an identified Year Group.

• Analysing national and school data to track, monitor and intervene to improve student outcomes.

• Liaise with TLR post holders to identify and remove potential barriers to enable student progress across the curriculum.

• To take lead responsibility for the behaviour, discipline, uniform, attendance and punctuality of students in the Year.

• To take a lead role in the monitoring of the academic welfare of students in the Year and the removal of barriers to progress.

• Maintain an overview of all significant groups within the Year, e.g. SEND, DA, HPA, vulnerable groups and respond effectively to their needs and ensure a high profile is given to the identification and planning for these groups in the classroom in order to ensure the progress of every student.

• To support the development of personal potential for students in the Year.

• To complete line management duties in line with school policy.

We are seeking a Head of Year to join our pastoral department. The ability to teach Science or MFL would be an advantage. You must be dedicated, committed to personal development. You will need to have high expectations of your students and yourself with a determined approach to ensuring every child can succeed irrespective of circumstance. You will join a staff body who are fun, dedicated, hardworking and professional. We will work together to support you in reaching your potential.
