Making a Difference Every Day:

We are seeking a dedicated, caring and highly organised Head of Year to lead a designated year group of students, providing pastoral leadership and ensuring every student is supported to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will lead a team of tutors, work closely with families and external agencies, and implement effective strategies to promote excellent attendance, behaviour, punctuality, wellbeing and academic achievement, addressing barriers to success and fostering a positive, inclusive culture for all students.

The person we appoint will:

  • be a highly organised, efficient and motivated person with excellent communication skills.
  • have experience of working with young people in a professional capacity.
  • be able to engage professionally with staff, students, parents and external providers.
  • have a professional and friendly approach.
  • be an excellent team player with the highest expectations of themselves.

    Hillcrest School is an all-girls 11 to 16 school with a mixed sixth form located on a green field site in Edgbaston constituency on the southwest edge of Birmingham. Our students come from a range of backgrounds across Birmingham and surrounding areas.

    The school was rated ‘Good’ with outstanding behaviour and safety by Ofsted in September 2013, and following a short inspection in July 2017 and again in September 2022, retained our ‘Good’ rating.
