Head of Year - Pastoral job summary

Cansfield High School is seeking a dedicated and inspiring Pastoral Head of Year to lead on student wellbeing and cultivate a school culture grounded in our core values: Aspirational, Courageous, Curious, Honourable, and Respectful.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the school’s pastoral care strategy.

  • Provide tailored support for vulnerable students through mentoring and effective multi-agency collaboration.

  • Oversee and refine systems for monitoring attendance, behaviour, and academic progress.

  • Design and deliver high-quality enrichment activities.

  • Build strong and supportive relationships with students, families, staff, and the wider community.

  • Promote inclusion, resilience, and positive behaviour throughout the school.

37 hours per week, term time plus 2 weeks.
