The successful candidate will provide strong and visible leadership for their year group, developing positive relationships with students, staff and families and creating a culture where every student feels valued, supported and able to achieve their full potential.
At St Thomas More, our Catholic ethos is at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for someone who will embrace and actively contribute to our mission of forming Christ-centred pilgrims of hope with kind hearts, questioning minds, a thirst for knowledge and a hunger for justice.
The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting high standards of attendance, behaviour, achievement and personal development, while ensuring that the wellbeing and safeguarding of students remain central to our pastoral provision. You will work collaboratively with Form Tutors, teaching staff, families and external agencies to provide effective support and intervention where needed.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has high expectations and a genuine belief in the potential of every young person.
- Is an inspirational and visible pastoral leader who can build strong, trusting relationships.
- Is committed to improving attendance, behaviour, achievement and student wellbeing.
- Can motivate and develop students, encouraging them to take responsibility and become positive contributors to the school community.
- Works collaboratively and communicates effectively with students, colleagues and families.
- Is organised, resilient and able to respond positively to the demands of a busy pastoral role.
- Shares our commitment to the Catholic ethos and values of St Thomas More Catholic Academy.
In return, we offer the opportunity to join a welcoming and committed team within a school that places relationships, high expectations, personal development and student success at the heart of its work.
If you are passionate about making a real difference to the lives of young people and are ready to take the next step in your pastoral leadership journey, we would be delighted to hear from you.
We encourage prospective applicants to visit the school prior to applying.
We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive a sufficient number of suitable applications.
