We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic, resilient, and highly motivated individual who would join our outstanding pastoral team as a Head of Year.
Responsibilities:
To make a significant contribution to Holy Trinity’s ethos and culture of encouragement and achievement.
The successful candidate is required to be flexible in their approach to this role and be prepared to go the ‘extra mile’ in support of the students and families of Holy Trinity.
Be responsible for managing and addressing the needs of students who need help to overcome barriers to learning to achieve their full potential and to support all aspects of inclusion
To fully support, lead and uphold the Catholic Life of the school
To proactively work with parents/ carers to improve all aspects of educational outcomes and safety of all pupils
To monitor, support and intervene to ensure that all pupils adhere to the high standards of behaviour and learning, attendance and punctuality across school
Be responsible for the strategic oversight of student academic and progress performance in your year group, working with progress leaders across school
Promoting and leading on ensuring all pupils achieve excellent attendance and punctuality in conjunction with the Attendance leads in school
Support with transition for Year 6 into Year 7 pupils for September 2026 if appointed to HOY 7 position
Leader of progress and information evenings for students in your year group.
To Lead a team of highly effective Form Tutors and insist on high expectations at all times.
To create and maintain positive relationships with students and families.
To be acutely aware of Safeguarding and Child Protection issues in your year group and seek appropriate support when required- this will involve leading aspects of safeguarding and early help and intervention at the appropriate threshold and supporting the team of DSLs in school
To maintain accurate records for all pupils
To contribute and lead rewards and sanctions for year group
Pastoral support for students who are vulnerable including but not limited to those new to school, on a managed move or accessing alternative provision to ensure that their transition is successful. This is both for those who are welcomed into Holy Trinity or those who are educated elsewhere but remain on the school roll.
To liaise and working with other members of the pastoral team, senior leadership team and middle leaders.
