An 11 – 19 secondary school which opened in September 2018, was established by Derby Diocesan Academy Trust (DDAT) and Derby Cathedral to help meet the need for additional high-quality secondary places in the Derby area. The school has had a successful start and is currently over-subscribed for every year group. We currently have 900 students across Years 7 to 11 and our brand new sixth form provision opens in September 2023. Derby Cathedral School is the first ever Church of England Secondary school in the Diocese and after being in our temporary school for the first three years, moved to our new state-of-the-art building in September 2021. This is located close to the city centre. The school equips students with skills and qualifications that will enable them to access high-quality careers in and around the city of Derby and beyond. The curriculum offer is broad and balanced and is enhanced by strong links with the Cathedral. The curriculum and our character values, based on the acronym FAITH, are a key part of the school vision and represent a platform from which we build high levels of personal development, well-being and achievement from Year 7 onwards.
