The Children, Staff and Governors are looking to appoint a new Head Teacher who will be able to lead our school from September 2020. We are seeking a compassionate, dynamic and visionary leader who will build on the child centred, caring ethos of the school.
Bellefield is first and foremost a happy school environment. The well-being of the children is our most important consideration. Staff like working here and children enjoy attending. We celebrate the difference and diversity that exists within our school and believe that Bellefield offers a rich and fulfilling learning environment in which children thrive.
We are a voluntary controlled school and we highly value our connection to the Local Authority and Diocese and we have no immediate plans to consider changing our status. Our links with the local community are strong and we run a Breakfast Club as well as After School Care. Our strong pastoral care ensures that children and families receive access to the support they require.
Christian values underpin our school and our vision is grounded in Matthew 7:20 “by their fruit, you shall know them”. Our focus on the spiritual development of children extends to our five core values of: Respect, Responsibility, Friendship, Honesty and Courage. These values are prevalent throughout our school and we are proud of how the children live these values through their behaviours and treatment of others.
We have an above average percentage of EAL children, Pupil Premium children and a slightly above average percentage of children with SEND. However, our strong inclusive ethos ensures that children do well. We are proud of the fact that, whilst children tend to start our school attaining below the National Average, by the time they finish Key Stage 2 their attainments are broadly in line with National Average results. Our focus is on ensuring that children make academic progress and this is currently rated as ‘Good’.
We are looking for a Head Teacher who can further build upon the good practice that exists within our school. Whilst we are proud of our successes, we remain open to positive change. Therefore we are looking for someone with a strong, inclusive vision for the development of the school. In return we believe we have a talented and committed team of staff and governors to support you as well as some truly exceptional children!
We would welcome visits of our school. If you wish to visit please contact our Business Manager, Natasha Shadwell: Natasha Finance@bellefield.wilts.sch.uk or 01225 753530.
The closing date for applications is Monday 16th March 2020 and we will be interviewing on Tuesday 31st March 2020. Application forms can be found at https://jobs.wiltshire.gov.uk/.
