What skills and experience we're looking for

  • You will carry out the duties of the Headteacher as set out in the current School Teachers' Pay and Conditions document and aspire to fulfil the Headteacher's Standards.
  • You will embody and inspire the ethos and culture of the school, securing the shared vision with all the members of the school community. You will establish and ensure a safe and secure environment for learning and teaching that empowers both staff and children to achieve their highest individual potential whilst giving due regard to teaching, leadership and management needs of the school.
  • You will hold central responsibility for raising the quality of learning and teaching, and for pupil achievement. This includes monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of learning outcomes as well as setting high expectations.
  • You will work strategically with the Governing board, staff and other stakeholders to create a shared vision and strategic plan for school development.
  • You will manage your own and other relationships effectively, supporting a professional learning community that helps others to achieve.
  • You will provide effective organisation and management of the school and seek ways of improving organisational structures and functions based on rigorous self evaluation.
  • You will work with the whole school community in carrying out their responsibilities and be accountable to a wide range of groups.
  • You will be committed to engaging with the internal and external school community to secure equity and entitlement.
  • You will demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promote the welfare of children.
