Headteacher job summary
We are ready for a dynamic and skilled leader to continue our journey to ‘good’ as our Interim Headteacher’s contract is due to end at Easter 2021 and she must return to her own school. Sutton School is changing and it is not the RI school of the last Ofsted report. Despite the difficulties of lockdown, our Interim Headteacher and Deputy Head have continued to strive for rapid improvement. Recently introduced initiatives include Cornerstones curriculum and Read, Write, Inc and they have been embraced by teachers and learners alike. We are currently reviewing our Maths and Reading schemes so, with our developing team of enthusiastic middle leaders, we are all working together to raise standards and improve outcomes for all of our children.
Preferably an experienced leader (Headteacher, Deputy Head or in a senior leadership role) you should have a demonstrable track record of raising standards, and the ambition, skills and experience to lead a school offering opportunity to flourish. You must possess a deep understanding of curriculum development and teaching and learning, with the ability to unite, enthuse and inspire the whole school community. The successful candidate will support the ethos of a Church of England school serving the village community. If you are currently from outside Fenland and East Cambridgeshire Opportunity Area, we are able to offer assistance towards removal expenses.
