Further details about the role
Callands Community Primary School is a friendly, unique and successful school which is rated excellent in all areas by Ofsted. We have a committed team of extremely talented and motivated staff, hugely supportive parents and a strong, committed Governing Board. Our delightful children are all eager to engage and become lifelong learners who relish the delights of discovery in our well established creative and challenging curriculum. Whilst recognising Callands as the home of ‘Unique Children Who Together Are One,’ we also aim to be outward looking, collaborating with the wider community to fully prepare our pupils for life in an increasingly culturally diverse society whilst cherishing British values. We focus on helping every child to become the best they can be and to discover their unique talents not just academically, but also through developing life skills and encouraging a healthy lifestyle.
Our school boasts a sensory room (where our experienced and trained staff offer bespoke programmes), a modern and separate EYFS building (which was opened in 2016), a woodland area on site (complete with fire pit) where our qualified staff lead our children in Forest School activities, and a multi-use games arena (MUGA) used alongside a variety of sports equipment that were purchased to reflect pupil voice. Most recently we have installed an eco-house to help our children understand bigger world issues and have undergone extensive works to replace the school roof.
The school has 406 pupils on roll.
We are looking for an outstanding candidate who will inspire, challenge and care for all in our school community. You need to be a listener who is approachable, a participant in all aspects of school life and a decisive leader who works in a collaborative way.
Commitment to safeguarding
Our school is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all of our children and we expect all staff and volunteers to share
the same commitment. The above post will be subject to enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references and will be exempt from the
provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
