What skills and experience we're looking for
The Diocese of Gloucester Academies Trust is delighted to advertise for the post of Headteacher at Christ Church CofE Primary School. The school includes a Communication and Interaction Centre which is a specialist provision for pupils with speech, language and communication needs. It enables pupils to access tailored teaching, therapy and specialist support while remaining part of the wider school community.
This is a permanent, full-time position from 12 April 2027.
This role provides an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced leader to lead a team of passionate teaching and support staff to ensure high quality teaching and learning.
We are seeking an individual who can inspire and develop others, who has a clear understanding of excellent teaching and learning, and who leads with passion, inclusivity and integrity. You will be someone who builds trust and confidence within your community, enabling both children and adults to flourish. We would also value a willingness to contribute to and share strong practice across our family of schools.
A strong commitment to excellence in school leadership, alongside an understanding of and alignment with the values of school and Trust with a Church of England foundation, is essential.
As a Headteacher within our Trust, you will have the opportunity to lead a school with its own distinct identity and context, while benefiting from the support, expertise and constructive challenge of a highly skilled central team. You will also be part of a collegiate group of Headteachers who are collaborative, innovative and solution-focused in their approach to leadership.
We are proud to offer a wide range of professional development opportunities and will actively support your leadership journey and career progression. Equally important to us is the pastoral care of our Headteachers. We recognise the depth of care they show to others, and we are committed to ensuring they feel supported, valued and able to prioritise their own wellbeing.
We are looking for someone who:
can clearly articulate a compelling vision of educational excellence
is passionately committed to the ethos of the school
inspires, leads and motivates all staff and pupils to give of their best
is committed to the Trust’s vision of inclusive education
can build excellent relationships with all stakeholders
is committed to collaboration with neighbouring schools and wider Trust schools.
What the school offers its staff
We can offer you:
the full and able support of senior leaders, staff and local governors who are ambitious for the school
