Headteacher - Heath Primary School job summary
Respect, Achieve, Together
Building on the work of our outgoing Headteacher, we are seeking a leader who will bring clear direction and improve outcomes for our children. Someone who understands primary education, develops people and turns ambition into great experiences and achievement.
Heath is a primary and nursery school for children aged 2-11, with approximately 360 pupils. Our school motto, developed with children, families, staff and governors, reflects the importance we place on kindness, effort and working together. Nurture provision through The Woodland Room and our Outdoor Play and Learning programme are important parts of school life.
One of Heath’s greatest assets is its extensive enrichment provision. Theatre and dance productions, music, competitive sport, educational visits, workshops and residential experiences contribute enormously to children’s development. Our next Headteacher will preserve and build on these opportunities.
Our outgoing Headteacher has encouraged staff to contribute their individual expertise, interests and creativity. We want our next leader to build on this collaborative culture, empowering colleagues and encouraging professional initiative.
The school has many successes. Our next Headteacher will understand what is working, be clear about what needs to change and work alongside colleagues to move the school forward and improve outcomes, combining compassion and high expectations with trusted relationships.
We are looking for:
A strong primary leader with a proven impact on teaching and outcomes, who can identify priorities and lead sustained improvement.
An inclusive leader who understands barriers to learning and combines high expectations with effective support for every child.
A visible, compassionate leader who builds trust with children, staff and families, develops colleagues and holds people fairly to account.
A collaborative leader who lives Embark’s values of Family, Integrity, Teamwork and Success, drawing on and contributing to expertise across our Trust.
What you can expect from Embark
Our purpose is “Love Learning, Love Life”, and our Collective Commitment to Inclusion underpins our ambition for every child and adult. You will join a family of schools where leaders share expertise and support one another. You will receive practical support, professional challenge and investment in your development, with the wider Trust working alongside you to secure improvement at Heath.
We welcome applications from experienced Headteachers and Deputy Headteachers ready to take the next step.
Visits are encouraged. Come and meet our children and staff, understand the opportunity and see the contribution you could make. Full information can be found in the candidate pack.
Embark Federation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and all relevant pre-employment checks.
