We are situated in extensive grounds at the heart of the Kings Hill community and are privileged to be a well resourced school with a dedicated team of teaching and support staff. We offer a unique and vibrant educational experience, with high expectations and a caring ethos.
he highest standards are set for the quality of education for every pupil in our care; this is the cornerstone of our school. We aim to maximise the potential of every child, developing their character and interests, as well as their academic achievements. We offer an inclusive, ambitious, broad, and well sequenced curriculum. Vast enrichment opportunities are provided for all our pupils, including a diverse range of clubs, workshops, productions and educational visits and visitors. Our curriculum progression mapping starts with our nursery provision, and threads through to end of KS2. Values-based education is embedded throughout, and permeates all areas of school life. This is evident in pupil and adult relationships, and is reflected in the positive behaviour evident in classrooms and around the school. Our specific values of Responsibility, Respect, Co-operation, Courage and Resilience under-pin our school’s vision and ethos. We are constantly striving for excellence, and are a high achieving school.
We ensure that our pupils are ready for the next stage of their learning and are equipped to be responsible local, national and global citizens. We are proud that our awards include:
IQM Flagship Status
Outstanding Primary Language Award
Platinum Sports Award
Values Based Education Mark
Primary Science Quality Mark
Our school's outdoor areas are used extensively during the school day to enhance our curriculum. Our building is modern and is a unique linear design with extensive and beautiful grounds. We have a large extended school hall which can be divided into two by acoustic doors, the smaller of which providing an area for sports activities. Our grounds incorporate a pond dipping area, poly tunnel, woodland walk, Multi Use Games Area, all weather running track, trim and more recently have adopted the OPAL approach to play and learning. Our nursery provision has now been in place for four years now, which takes children from two years old.
The school actively participates in collaborations with local schools, including sharing ideas, agreement trialling and taking part in sporting events. We engage in action research, being fully committed to life-long learning for all.
We are a strategic, forward-thinking and innovative school. In the last three years we have opened our highly successful nursery. This was a strategic goal, as it enables our school to work in partnership with pupils and families earlier, as well as ensuring our school remains sustainable in the future, while also fulfilling a need in the local community.
We are proud of our inclusive approach for all pupils, including those with SEND. Early identification and addressing of needs is supported through our nursery provision. We have highly skilled and trained staff, as well as a commitment to resources, such as our ‘Calm Cottage,’ sensory rooms and therapy dog, to ensure we are able to meet a diverse range of needs. We are committed to equality of opportunity. Our vision is for everyone that is part of our school community to be, ‘inspired to believe, and inspired to achieve’. Our mission is to minimise any barrier preventing any individual from fulfilling this goal.
