What skills and experience we're looking for
Leigham Primary is a happy and successful 2-form entry school in Plymouth, with a very popular, school-led onsite nursery. Outcomes at the school are consistently in line with or above the national average and often enabling disadvantaged and vulnerable children to be highly successful. Leigham was inspected by Ofsted in January 2025 and judged to have outstanding Leadership and Management and Personal Development, with (very) good Early Years Provision, Behaviour and Attitudes and Quality of Education. The school and Trust are rightfully proud of all that the school achieves. We are now looking for Leigham’s next Headteacher, to secure and develop these successes. Key Requirements & Duties
- To provide exceptional strategic leadership in all aspects of leading a school and inspire skilled and committed staff to deliver excellent outcomes for all children
- A successful career as a senior leader or headteacher, who can bring about continued improvement, with high expectations and a proven track record of improving outcomes for children of all abilities
- Excellent leadership and teaching skills, using your knowledge of successful evidence-based strategies
- A strong knowledge of SEND, support for vulnerable families and a commitment to inclusive education for children of all abilities and backgrounds
- A commitment to learn from, share and develop excellent practice across the Trust, to improve children’s life chances and global awareness.
