What skills and experience we're looking for
The Governing Body of Long Furlong Primary School are looking to recruit an outstanding Headteacher to lead this popular community school, starting in April or September 2024.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future growth of the school which is situated in the historic market town of Abingdon in Oxfordshire.
We are looking for:-
- Proven senior leadership and management experience
- Proven success in raising standards within a primary school
- Experience of developing curriculum strategy and supporting staff to deliver to this
- Evidence of the ability to identify and communicate a clear vision for the future which will take the school community on the journey from a ‘Requires Improvement’ judgement towards Ofsted Outstanding
- Evidence of leading whole school improvement initiatives, enhancing standards in teaching and learning and having an impact on pupil attainment
- An accountable, visible and decisive leader who also holds others to account
- A leader who is committed to developing others, sharing support and expertise and encouraging ownership
