What skills and experience we're looking for
The Governing Board would like a Headteacher who will:
• put safeguarding and children's wellbeing first using relentless professional curiosity and sound judgement
• be visible, approachable, principled, child-focused, and ambitious for every pupil
• possess a deep knowledge of curriculum, teaching and assessment
• lead and support the further development of a rich, inclusive curriculum for all pupils
• maintain high levels of support for disadvantaged and SEND pupils
• develop staff and build leadership capacity • work with families, governors and Cheshire East
• manage finance, staffing and resources strategically to address risks and prioritise for the future
• lead evidence-informed improvement whilst preserving the school’s warmth, ethos and values
• identify priorities which can be well implemented and clearly evaluated
• be warm and accessible to pupils, staff, families, Governors and the local community

Mablins Lane Community Primary School is a large, maintained community school for children aged 4 to 11. The school has capacity for 630 pupils and currently has 611 pupils on roll. We are proud of our wonderful children, strong staff team, supportive governors and the caring, cooperative culture that brings our community together. Our next Headteacher will inherit a school with a clear record of improvement and a secure Good OFSTED judgement.
Mablins Lane is situated in Crewe, Cheshire, within a well established and diverse residential community. As a community school, strong relationships with pupils, families, local partners and neighbouring services are central to our work. We provide wrap around care with our attached nursery.
