We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Headteacher for Manchester Secondary PRU, to continue our journey of rapid improvement. We would strongly welcome applications from an existing Headteacher or a Deputy Headteacher of a successful PRU/AP/mainstream or special school who is seeking new challenges.

Manchester Secondary PRU – Student Services Manager (Centre Manager)

Full time Temporary 1 year Grade 8 (SCP 31 – 35) TTO within the range £33,707 - £38,191 commencing on 1 September 2024

35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.45 am to 15.45 pm.

The school is looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic individual to undertake the role of Student Services Manager (Centre Manager) responsible for managing a team of people who support pupils in their learning, and work with other professionals around the family and parents to enable pupils to be the best that they can be during their time at the PRU.
All staff at the PRU are appointed to the school and can be asked to work at any of the schools’ centres across the city at the discretion of the Headteacher. Our Centres include Clayton, Newton Heath, Procter (Hulme), Richmond Park (Longsight) and Mersey Valley (Chorlton).

Manchester Secondary PRU provides full time education for pupils between 11-16 who are permanently excluded, at risk of permanent exclusion or otherwise cannot access a mainstream curriculum. Our aim is to match provision closely to the needs of individual children and young people referred to the PRU by schools, academies or the local authority. We see the needs of all our pupils as centring on their capacity to learn and make progress. We have provision in 5 of our own centres across the city and commission further placements with Alternative Providers in a wide variety of settings.
