Millhouse Primary School is seeking to appoint an inspiring, dedicated and forward-thinking Headteacher who will build on our strong foundations and lead our school with vision, integrity and ambition.
About Our School
Millhouse Primary School is a small school with a big heart, located on the edge of Barnsley, Sheffield and Huddersfield. With 100 pupils across four mixed-age classes, we are proud of our close-knit, family atmosphere where every child is known, valued and supported to thrive.
Our children are kind, enthusiastic and eager to learn. They take pride in their school and are supported by a team of highly committed and caring staff who work tirelessly to provide an exciting, engaging and challenging curriculum. The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and inspirational leader to shape the strategic direction of our school and ensure continued excellence and improvement.
As Headteacher, you will:
- Provide clear strategic leadership and vision
- Inspire, motivate and develop a dedicated and hardworking staff team
- Foster a culture of high expectations, inclusion and ambition
- Ensure all pupils achieve their full potential academically and personally
- Work collaboratively with governors, parents and the wider community
- Lead on school improvement priorities with energy and determination
- Manage the operational and financial aspects of running a small school
As the leader of a small primary school, the role requires a balance of strategic oversight and operational involvement. There will be a teaching commitment alongside leadership responsibilities. The successful candidate will need to be highly organised, adaptable and resilient, with the ability to manage a varied and busy workload.
Financial sustainability is a critical element of the role. Governors are seeking a Headteacher who can think strategically about budget management, identify efficiencies and explore opportunities to enhance resources in support of the school’s ongoing development and success.
