What skills and experience we're looking for
This is a great opportunity to lead a vibrant village primary school as it continues its journey being part of a multi-academy trust of primary only schools. We are looking for a Head Teacher who will develop and build strong links with our whole school community, the new Head Teacher will need to maintain the fantastic building blocks of a caring, ‘Take Care’ school, where fairness, respect and thoughtfulness are at the heart of daily life.
What the school offers its staff
At Muskham Primary School, you will find a warm, vibrant, and community-oriented atmosphere where staff and pupils share high aspirations. Our school is built around our Enablers; empathy, questioning, perseverance, independence, creativity and optimism, which are woven into every part of our curriculum and school life.
We are committed to fostering a love of learning, encouraging children to have a go and to see mistakes as stepping stones on their learning journey.
Muskham has strong academic performance at Key Stage 2: for example, in 2024, 95 % of pupils achieved the expected standard in SPAG, 85 % in Reading, 100 % in Writing and 90 % in Mathematics. The average scaled scores in core subjects (Reading, Mathematics) are well above the expectation (e.g. 107–108).
From our June 2025 Ofsted inspection report:
We believe that Muskham offers both stability and exciting potential. We are seeking a leader who will build on these strengths while addressing areas for continued growth — particularly in further refining curriculum coherence across all subjects and ensuring that adaptations for pupils with SEND are consistently effective.
