What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking a Headteacher for Newbridge Primary School, Bath who will:
- Provide strong strategic and operational leadership, sustaining the school’s vision, ethos and drive for continuous improvement in partnership with governors, staff and the community.
- Champion a positive, inclusive and nurturing culture where every child is valued, respected and well prepared for the next stage of life.
- Ensure high-quality teaching, learning and curriculum design, enabling all pupils, including disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND, to thrive.
- Lead a broad, balanced and coherent curriculum, using assessment effectively to identify gaps and improve outcomes.
- Model a robust safeguarding culture, ensuring pupils’ wellbeing, behaviour and safety are central to all practice and decision-making.
- Develop, motivate and retain a high-performing staff team through strong professional relationships and high-quality development.
- Manage people, systems and resources effectively, building strong partnerships and ensuring financial stability, accountability and statutory compliance.
- Work openly and transparently with governors, supporting them in their role of strategic oversight, accountability and challenge, and ensuring the school meets all statutory and regulatory requirements.

Newbridge Primary School is a two form entry maintained primary school on the western outskirts of Bath, set within exceptional grounds, serving over 400 children aged 4–11.
