Headteacher job summary

We are a village school, approximately 7 miles to the south of the city of Norwich, with a maximum of single form entry, a strong set of Christian values, and a new and exciting focus on becoming an outstanding Eco School.
Newton Flotman Primary School is in the process of reinvigorating itself and seeks an enthusiastic and caring Headteacher to help on that journey.
We need someone to help us continue our work on a curriculum that inspires, delights and meets the needs of our children. We are currently a non-federated, non-MAT, local authority church school that is seeking an inspired and inspiring individual who can mix some classroom teaching responsibilities (a day a week initially) with leading our committed staff.
We currently hold an outstanding Ofsted rating (from July 2010), but we are realistic about the journey ahead of us in our desire to secure that rating again.
We are looking for:
• An inspiring individual (with no apologies for repeating that!).
• Someone keen to help shape the school curriculum as we embark on becoming an Eco School.
• A candidate who is a great teacher as well as a great leader.
• An applicant who has an ambitious attitude for themselves and others.
• Someone who is prepared to take what is a very good school and make it even better.
• Vision to cultivate collaborative relationships and to secure a sustainable future for our school
We offer:
• A very skilled, hardworking and caring team of staff, support staff and governors.
• A strong Christian ethos and a determination to help mould fabulous people beyond the results we achieve (we value the whole child).
• A culture that values curiosity, enthusiasm, hard work, creativity and success (in all its forms).
• A financially stable school with plenty of space, both indoors and outside.
• A supportive wider community that will help you to develop and grow as much as the children.

We strongly encourage all candidates to visit the school, to come and see us in action, and to meet our children. To arrange a visit please contact Mrs Whyte at the school office on 01508 470379
