What skills and experience we're looking for
Starting salary negotiable with the potential of an additional payment of up to 10% for an exceptional candidate. A relocation package will also be considered, where applicable.
Rochdale Pupil Referral Service works in partnership with the Local Authority. Children accessing Rochdale PRS range across all key stages.
The Management Committee are looking to appoint a Headteacher who is passionate, enthusiastic and dynamic, who has exemplary leadership skills who can work as part of the team always putting children at the centre of what they do.
What the school offers its staff
We would particularly welcome applicants who have experience of leading within a PRS setting. This candidate would need to demonstrate:
- exceptional resilience and flexibility
- high quality interpersonal skills
- to be able to build on the established relationships with parents, staff, Management Committee members and partners
- to champion and act as an advocate for vulnerable children, young people and their families
They would be expected to be capable of delivering the strategic development of the PRS through their own vision, being innovative to future proof the provision in collaboration with the Local Authority.

Brownhill Learning Community comprises of Brownhill School and Rochdale Pupil Referral Service. We provide educational provision for pupils who are out of mainstream schools for a variety of reasons that include exclusion, emotional and behavioural difficulties, medical reasons, pregnancy and young mothers.
We operate across three sites around the Rochdale borough. Heights Lane, formerly Brownhill School, located near to the centre of Rochdale. Our Darnhill Site is located in Heywood. Saxon Hall is located in Belfield, Rochdale.
