Headteacher job summary
If you are a thoughtful leader with lots of creativity and flair, a clear vision of the curriculum and a real desire to create value for pupils in a unique, warm and welcoming school, make the move to St Leonard's CofE Primary School as Headteacher.
St Leonard's CofE Primary School is part of the St Christopher’s Trust - a family of 17 Church and Community Schools spanning three local authorities and providing a rich network of collaboration. A thriving church school on the centre of the attractive cathedral city of Exeter, it has been extended a number of times to accommodate the growth and continued success of the school and its community.
A great opportunity to bring leadership to a large school (630 pupils) that’s been through lots of change, you’ll have the support of a dedicated team that all want the best for our staff and children and a safe environment for everyone to thrive. Indeed, the school is like a family where everyone works together and learns from each other. Teachers are passionate and enthusiastic about their subjects. As Headteacher, you won’t just be the figurehead either, you’ll be able to focus on various aspects of school life; staff wellbeing - how expectations are communicated and how realistic they are, behaviour management systems, and provision and support for SEND. Are you ready for the challenge?
To apply, you’ll need proven relevant experience, a flair for assimilating information, openness to learning, great listening skills and a real desire to aspire. You’ll also need a firm but fair approach, with the depth, resilience and confidence to take the lead in an environment where children are encouraged to explore ideas, learn together and challenge themselves. Comfortable being part of a vibrant mixed community where parents know what they want, you will share our Christian ethos that embraces pupils’ views.
