The new Headteacher will play a key role in the development of the school as it looks to become an academy and join Chess Valley Primary Learning Trust partnering with Sarratt and Christ Church Chorleywood. This is an exciting time to help shape and mould strong collaborative networks across the schools to benefit pupils and staff within each school and across the trust.

  • Has excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build on strong working relationships within school, with partners and the wider community
  • Has the ability and ambition to continue to raise standards throughout the school, enabling every child and colleague to reach their full potential
  • Has an understanding of the current Ofsted and SIAMS inspections frameworks to drive performance
  • Has commitment to uphold and promote the school’s Christian ethos and a positive approach to working with the local church community and wider family of schools across the Trust and Diocese

In return, we can offer you:

  • A committed and caring staff team who are dedicated to the school and its Christian ethos

St Mary's Church of England (VA) Primary School is a one-form entry school set in a lovely semi-rural location in the town of Rickmansworth, with excellent transport links. We are extremely proud of our school and the Christian ethos that lies at the heart of all our school values.

In order for every child to achieve, we nurture confidence and equip each child with the necessary skills to be successful. St Mary’s strives to create and sustain a happy, safe and stimulating learning environment in which we encourage each child to become a confident and resilient member of our local community in preparation for their lives ahead.

Our children enjoy an exciting, aspirational curriculum which develops their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development well. They are well prepared for the next stage in their education and for life in modern Britain.

Pupils enjoy learning and work hard at school. Their behaviour is good in lessons, at playtime and while moving about the school. Our pupils show respect towards and tolerance of each other and adults.
