The St Mary's Island CEA Primary School With Nursery, are looking for an inspirational Headteacher with the vision and skills to inspire our children to develop a love of learning. We would like our Headteacher to create a nurturing environment where all children can thrive and achieve their potential; and build on our strong sense of community.
You will have the knowledge, experience and resilience to drive improvement throughout the school, with the interpersonal skills to motivate others and lead our team. You will be committed to providing a rich and engaging curriculum and promoting an inclusive ‘can do’ culture where all can flourish.
We are a three form entry primary school with a nursery. A distinctive feature of St Mary's Island School is that it shares the premises with our local St Mary's Island Church who are actively engaged with the school and delivery of its Christian ethos, visions and values.
The appointed Headteacher will:
- Have a child-centred approach, supporting families to enable children to thrive.
- Have significant leadership experience and a proven record of leading school improvement.
- Embrace the opportunity to inspire, shape and lead the wider-school team into the future, by living out our Christian values and vision.
- Drive our staff’s continuing professional development, encouraging excellence and high standards.
- Maximise the potential of our extensive facilities to provide a stimulating, inclusive learning environment.
- Build on the strong and positive relationship that the school has with all stakeholders, including our local Church communities.
- Understanding the role that a strong Local Governing Body plays in the leadership and direction of a successful school.
- Take positive action with parents, children, and families to ensure the school is at the heart of the local community.
In return, we can offer you:
- A committed and cohesive staff team, dedicated to the school and its distinctive Christian ethos.
- Enthusiastic, well-motivated and happy children who create opportunities as well as being encouraged to be independent thinkers.
- Supportive and engaged parents.
- Attractive and well-maintained buildings
- The support and challenge of an active and committed local governing body.
- Continuing professional development as a leader, and wider opportunities to collaborate and make a difference within Medway and the Rochester Diocese.
- Opportunities for support, collaboration and professional development within national and local networks.
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged.
Please contact Mrs L Croombs (office@st-marys-island.medway.sch.uk or phone 01634 891050) to make an appointment to visit the school.
