What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, motivational leader who will commit long term to the school and be ambitious for its staff and students.

You will be someone with a track record of leading school improvement to secure high standards in teaching and learning, ideally with experience in inner-city, multicultural areas. You will have a sound understanding of the social, economic and educational challenges faced by children and families with low incomes and experience in building positive and trusting relationships with parents and carers. You will be a team player who can inspire and motivate a team of leaders, teachers and support staff to secure the highest standards, building upon an established teaching and learning culture. Your focus will be to ensure all children make rapid progress and are supported and nurtured to achieve their very best as they participate in the Trust’s shared creative curriculum.

You would be part of the Executive Leadership Team, which includes the CEO/Executive Headteacher, both headteachers, the CFO and Trust Business Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and inspirational leader to take our school to the next level.

About Britannia Village Primary School

Britannia Village Primary School opened in September 1999. The village and the school were designed on the theme of ships, with masts and portholes to reflect its famous and well documented history of merchant ships, which were docking here for many years, bringing produce from all over the world. Our school logo was also designed to represent this history and our classrooms are named after ships which docked locally.
