Headteacher job summary

Are children at the heart of your work? Are you looking for an opportunity and a challenge? If so, read on. The Directors of The Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham Multi Academy Trust are seeking to appoint a headteacher to St Swithun’s C of E Primary School. We are looking for someone who can build on the good work of the current headteacher and provide children with an exceptionally high - quality educational experience. If this sounds like your next step, you will need to be someone who: • Inspires colleagues to be the very best that they can be. • Values, promotes and celebrates our core Christian values in all that they do. • Provides expertise in primary practice. • Works with resilience, integrity and courage. • Brings exceptionally high expectations to all that they do. • Locates children at the heart of all their work. You will be supported by a Trust, SNMAT, that does things differently: we aren’t corporate. We don’t impose pedagogical policies. We don’t move teachers around and across partner academies; we know that strength lies in the quality of every one of our people. Critically, we are ego-free and work together to place the best interests of pupils at the center of every decision and action. You will join our Senior Leadership Team of headteachers to move both St Swithun’s and the wider Trust forward. This really is a Trust that you can trust. In return for your commitment, we will provide exciting opportunities supported through bespoke CPD, tailored specifically to your needs. You will be supported by an executive team in the first year and will benefit from the wider support of our expert practitioners. We want you to stay in this Trust and will find opportunities to keep you interested and excited about your work. This is a rare chance to make a huge difference, to join a school at the heart of its community, and an organisation that is looking to be the best Multi Academy Trust that nobody has heard of (that’s deliberate).

Welcome to St Swithun’s Church of England Primary Academy, a member of Southwell and Nottingham Diocese Multi Academy Trust (SNMAT)

For our children and staff, St Swithun’s is not just a school, but a nurturing inclusive community underpinned by Christian Values and a belief that we are all on a journey, discovering our God-given potential and understanding our roles and responsibilities in the world.

We believe that every child is unique; every child is valued, encouraged to aspire, and challenged to achieve.

It is our aim to provide a school experience that is rich with opportunities for our children to develop academically, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually.

We place great emphasis upon the well-being and personal development of every child and we strive to equip them with a curiosity, self-belief and an excitement for learning. We encourage our pupils to be thoughtful, and to express themselves so that they can move on with the confidence to embrace all the rich possibilities of their future lives.

We believe in listening to our children and encourage them to contribute to various aspects of school life through the Student Council, Sports Crew, Eco-Council and Worship Leaders.

As parents or carers you are partners in your child’s journey through these formative school years. We will work closely with you to ensure that the time your child spends with us gives them the very best foundations for their futures.

We welcome you to talk with our staff, walk round our school, and to get a feeling for what it would be like to be a member of the St Swithun’s School family.
