What skills and experience we're looking for

Are you a transformational leader with the passion, drive and resilience to make a difference to young people and their community?

Swale Academies Trust is seeking to appoint a strategic and innovative Headteacher to The Eastbourne Academy, a medium-sized 11-16 school in Eastbourne which is significantly ahead on its improvement journey. We are a leading Multi-Academy Trust in the South East. Each school within our Trust has a unique identity and ethos, so each Headteacher has the scope to make their individual mark in their own school.

The person we are looking for will not be afraid to embrace challenge, and will possess a driven determination to improve the life chances of the students in the local community. We also require a leader with vision and talent to chart an ambitious course for the school’s next stage of development. Improving outcomes for students, continuous professional development of staff at all levels, and curriculum design present exciting opportunities for the next Headteacher.

For the right candidate, there may be opportunities for a cross-Trust role, which can be discussed at interview.

What the school offers its staff

Since its last Ofsted inspection in May 2022, The Eastbourne Academy has made significant strides in improvement. Now a settled, inclusive community, the school requires a creative and collaborative leader to nurture ambition even further to enthuse and inspire both students and staff.

Swale Academies Trust provides an extensive network of support to empower all to achieve success. Supported by a school Improvement Executive, you will be encouraged to work closely with the other schools in the Trust to share and develop best practice.

If you can enthuse and inspire the next generation of students and staff at The Eastbourne Academy, we look forward to receiving your application.
