SKILLS:

An outstanding teacher in Foundation Stage and KS1

Able to inspire, challenge, motivate and empower others

Flexibility, initiative, and the capacity to maintain a positive attitude in a challenging and demanding role

Able to model the values and vision of the school

Strategic thinking to build and communicate a coherent vision

Prioritise, plan, and organise self and others

Work well under pressure and meet deadlines

EXPERIENCE:

Significant and successful experience as a Headteacher, deputy Headteacher or equivalent at KS1 and Foundation Stage

Relevant experience in a diverse multi-cultural environment

Commitment to distributed leadership

Inspiring others to work towards a strong vision

Improving teaching and learning by using a range of evidence from monitoring and evaluation

Devising innovative solutions to improve pupils’ progress and the quality of teaching

Whole school evaluation, using data to analyses performance

Monitoring the curriculum to ensure inclusion and access for all pupils

Keeping abreast of and responding to a changing educational agenda in a positive, flexible, and imaginative way

Elmwood Infant and Nursery School is a large, four-form entry school with a 52-place nursery. We are located a short walk away from the centre of Croydon and serve a diverse community, with over 50 different languages spoken by our children, families and staff. Children’s rights are an integral part of our curriculum and we are very proud of the fact that we are a UNICEF Gold Rights Respecting School.
