Health and Wellbeing Support Officer job summary
To act as first responder to health and welfare issues at the Academy, as required. This includes first aid, mental health first aid and psychological first aid.
To follow the agreed Trust and Academy first aid and welfare processes to respond to and provide appropriate support for all health and welfare issues. This includes the administration of medication; contacting external agencies for cases which additional medical or welfare help and supporting with the student injection programmes.
To be responsible for maintaining the Academy’s first aid equipment and stock levels. Ensuring the Academy has the required level of equipment and stock in place at all times and first aid kits are provided for all external visits.

Who we are looking for
As a member of the frontline welfare team responsible for responding, as appropriate in times of crisis (for example pandemic, bereavements, accidents, incidents - inside and outside of school) as directed by the vice principal in charge of student welfare.
In partnership with professional support and external agencies responsible for the implementation of individual medical and care plans, ensuring plans are maintained and share with staff as appropriate and participate in any specific required training.
To be responsible for casework relating to SEMH and wellbeing, in liaison with the line manager and the SENDCO, proving SEMH interventions as required.
To identify wellbeing needs of students and staff through regular surveys and feedback to provide wellbeing strategies to the academy community as required and directed by assistant principal.
To promote, contribute and support the trusts and Academy’s culture of wellbeing through signposting training, offering advice guidance to staff, holding drop in sessions for wellbeing and supporting Lodge Park Academy to be involved with local and national well being initiatives.

Lodge Park Academy is a mixed secondary school situated on the edge of Corby in Northamptonshire, which was officially opened by Formula 1 ace Lewis Hamilton in May 2013. We offer a high quality education for students aged 11 to 19.
