The sense of being in an ambitious, supportive family is often commented on by children, parents and staff alike.

The role of the Healthcare Assistant will be to support and further meet the needs of our pupils with a range of medical conditions. We are looking for a practitioner who is able to undertake the required training in order to administer specific medical care for individual pupils. The post-holder will develop a thorough understanding of the medical needs of all pupils in the school but will not be allocated to any one pupil. This is a non-class based role.

From our new Healthcare Assistant, we would ask you to have:

  • Experience and a working knowledge of supporting pupils with a range of medical needs

  • A commitment to inclusion and supporting all children to achieve their potential

  • A positive, warm and nurturing approach to all children

  • Patience, dedication and flexibility

  • A desire to face a new challenge

  • Good organisational and administrative skills

  • A professional attitude towards working with others, including a range of outside agencies

In return we can offer you:

  • A truly child centred, friendly and holistic school

  • A strong team and school community

  • A safe and nurturing environment for our staff as well as our pupils

  • A supportive and solution focused SENCO and SLT

As well as:

  • Teaching Assistant support in all year groups

  • Lots of extra-curricular activities and trips for the children

  • Progression pathways

  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme

  • Comprehensive whole school and individual CPD programme

  • Onsite parking

  • A well-equipped staff room, access to school lunches and a central location with many amenities in very short walking distance

We would love to show you around our happy, energetic and colourful school.

St Matthew’s Primary School is a popular, oversubscribed and happy school full of enthusiastic and well behaved children eager to have fun learning. We are a well-resourced and energetic school which is well supported by parents, governors and the wider community.

Alongside our mainstream provision we host a Behaviour Provision on behalf of the Central Area Partnership (CAP), made up of nine schools. This provision supports children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs that can make full time mainstream education difficult for them. The aim of the provision is to provide an environment, pastoral and educational experience that keeps them moving forward in their learning but focuses specifically on their personal, social and emotional development.
