Priory Community School - An Academy are looking to recruit a dynamic leader into our Healthcare team. This is a very exciting opportunity for an individual who would relish the chance to join our dedicated team and make a real difference to the lives of young people with additional health and learning needs. The post holder will work in partnership with parents and all staff within the school to ensure pupils gain the optimum benefit from being in the school setting.
You will be the driving force to supporting and maintaining students in the school setting, who have physical and learning needs. You will contribute to the provision of a safe, healthy and educationally valuable environment for pupils who has identified additional personal, social and/or health care needs.
As part of this role, you will:
- Provide essential care and support to pupils in line with their individual Health Care Plans, working closely with parents, carers, and staff across the school.
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the Health Care Team, ensuring students supporting this team are making sufficient progress.
- Administer medication and attend to pupils’ personal care needs as required.
- Act as the main liaison between health professionals, school staff, and parents to ensure pupils receive cohesive and consistent support.
- Support safeguarding processes and uphold the Trust’s commitment to the safety and welfare of all children and young people.
The successful candidate will have:
- Qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy equivalent to GCSE Grade A*-C / Level 4 or above (or Level 2 NVQ equivalent).
- A First Aid qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
- Experience of working with children who have physical or learning needs, ideally within a school setting.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work flexibly as part of a team and build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
- A caring, resilient, and professional approach, with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
