We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated person to oversee our medical department as a Healthcare Officer. Bushey Meads School provides education for the full ability range of students, including students with varying degrees of physical impairment. We strive to ensure that individual student needs, interests and abilities are recognised and met and encourage all to be independent, resilient and able to make positive life choices.

What we are looking for:

Experience of working with children or young people, ideally within a school, healthcare or similar setting

A caring and approachable individual who is committed to supporting students’ health, wellbeing and personal care

Someone with an understanding of SEND and a commitment to treating all students with patience, dignity and respect

Someone with a good understanding of safeguarding and the ability to recognise and raise concerns about student welfare

An individual with effective communication skills who can work positively with students, families, staff and healthcare professionals

Someone who can remain calm, reassuring and responsive when supporting students who are unwell, injured or distressed

A team player who can work collaboratively with pastoral, safeguarding, SEND and wider support teams

The post is for 37 hours per week (excluding unpaid breaks), term-time + 1 week to include 5 INSET days

although requests for a part time position will be considered. The salary is APT&C point 9 plus Fringe based on experience. Full time figures are £27,254pa + £1045pa, paid pro-rata. The actual pro-rata salary is £23,310pa + £893pa.
