High Level Teaching Assistant - 1 year fixed term job summary
We are recruiting for a 2 days per week High Level Teaching Assistant at Eastfield Academy, based in Northampton.
About the role
We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and caring Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting children's learning and development, working alongside talented colleagues who are committed to helping every child be their very best.
Fixed term contract for 2026/27 academic year.
The role is 2 days per week from 8:30am to 3:30pm, term time only. Actual days to be discussed at interview
Deliver high-quality learning activities and provide whole-class supervision when teachers are absent.
Support the delivery of engaging lessons that motivate and inspire pupils.
Promote high expectations for learning, behaviour, and achievement.
Support pupils with a range of needs, including SEND, EAL, and those requiring additional challenge.
Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
Use effective behaviour management strategies to create a calm and productive learning environment.
Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure all pupils make progress.
Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
Work effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive team.

- GCSE grade A*-C (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
- NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience.
Understanding a variety of positive behaviour management.
