Higher Level Teaching Assistant job summary

Bishop Lonsdale is seeking a dedicated and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our committed and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning, helping pupils to achieve their full potential in a positive and inclusive environment.

As a HLTA, you will deliver sessions to cover teacher absence, PPA teacher release time and leadership release time. you will work closely with teachers and leaders to deliver learning activities and provide targeted support when required. You will contribute to planning, assessment and the wider life of the academy, ensuring that pupils are engaged, challenged and well supported. You should

The successful candidate will have a calm and empathic approach, be able to demonstrate enthusiasm for all teaching activities, have strong classroom practice, confidence in leading learning, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families. They will be adaptable, proactive and committed to promoting high standards of behaviour, achievement and wellbeing.

The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of needs, helping to remove barriers to learning and ensuring all children can access the curriculum. You may also contribute to intervention programmes, small group work and assessment activities, working under the direction of teaching staff.

We are looking for someone who holds HLTA status or equivalent experience and who has a secure understanding of child development, effective learning strategies and inclusive practice. Strong communication skills, good organisational ability and a collaborative approach are essential.
