Carr Infant School is looking for a positive and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to complement the work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision.

You will have HLTA status or QTS/QTLS and GCSE qualifications in maths and English at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent, alongside significant experience of working with children in an educational setting and planning and delivering intervention programmes for children with a range of needs. You will have the skills to work alongside class teachers and our school SENCo to ensure that children are able to access an ambitious curriculum and make positive progress against their own personal targets. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is calm, caring and consistent in their approach, who is committed to maintaining our high standards and wants to make a difference, and who is willing to 'go that extra mile' to better the life chances of our children.

Carr Infant School is due to join Excel Learning Trust on 1 November 2026. The Trust offers a range of staff benefits, and further details regarding the benefits and information about the Trust can be found here.

The trust will be undertaking a job evaluation exercise in the near future and, therefore, the grade for this position may change.
