Flintham Primary School is a small, rural primary school in the village of Flintham, situated in south-east Nottinghamshire, between Newark and Bingham. Our staff, parents and community work together to provide a caring and inclusive school. We are looking for an experienced enthusiastic Higher level teaching assistant to join our hardworking and dedicated staff team. This is an ideal opportunity for you to work in a supportive environment and to share and develop your skills and expertise.

The role will involve delivering lessons (primarily English, Maths and Whole Class Reading) in the absence of the class teacher, helping to equip them with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in an inclusive, supportive learning environment.

Fixed term 1 September 2026 - 31 August 2027

Three mornings a week (Monday, Thursday and Friday)

  • Has experience of teaching children and has high aspirations for their achievement
  • Believes in the capacity of all young people to learn and grow, despite the various challenges they face.
  • Is able to show initiative, solutions, creativity and resilience
  • Is a strong team player, willing to go the extra mile to make school a great experience for our pupils
  • Demonstrates a good standard of written and spoken English
  • First Aid Trained (desirable, but not essential)
