What skills and experience we're looking for
Fowey River Academy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, skilled and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our friendly and dedicated team.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. Working in partnership with teachers, the SENCO and other professionals, you will plan and deliver learning activities for individuals, groups and whole classes, helping pupils to make excellent progress across the curriculum. You will assess and monitor learning, provide high-quality feedback to teachers, and adapt activities to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs.
The role also involves supporting the development of pupils' confidence, independence and wellbeing, promoting positive behaviour, and contributing to an inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external agencies to ensure pupils receive the support they need to flourish.
About You:
We are looking for someone who:
Holds HLTA status or has equivalent experience within a school setting.
Has experience of planning and delivering high-quality learning activities across the secondary age range.
Has a good understanding of assessment, pupil progress and inclusive practice, including supporting pupils with SEND.
Builds positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families, promoting high expectations and excellent behaviour.
Is an effective communicator, works well as part of a team and is committed to their own professional development.
