Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) job summary

About The Role

You will be vital in helping our pupils become independent learners, stay focused and engaged in lessons, help explain different tasks, assist with a wide range of classroom and school-based activities, including planning, preparing and delivering engaging lessons, working with small groups or individual students to provide targeted support and assisting with classroom management. You will provide essential cover for teaching staff when required.

You will also collaborate with teachers to implement individualised plans for pupils with special educational needs to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

About You

You will be passionate about education and dedicated to helping children achieve their full potential while ensuring all pupils are supported to achieve this.

You will be trustworthy, enthusiastic, full of energy, well-organised and self-motivated. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to build strong relationships with children and families. You must have excellent numeracy and literacy skills and be passionate about making learning captivating for children, adapting where necessary to support children’s individual needs.

You will maintain confidentiality, be highly professional and be committed to improving your own practice. We are seeking a candidate who is currently studying for Level 4 or is already HLTA qualified or equivalent and has experience working with children across the primary curriculum, including those with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
